How It Works

The NoDig Rehabilitation Process

Four sequential steps from blocked or damaged pipe to fully rehabilitated, epoxy-lined infrastructure.

01
Mechanical Cleaning
High-speed chain cleaning with V8, V1 or Mini6 removes all deposits and corrosion, creating the surface profile required for epoxy adhesion.
02
Inspection & Drying
CCTV inspection confirms the pipe is clean and ready. The pipe interior must be fully dry before epoxy application.
03
Epoxy Application
ProLight, ProLight2 or The Pipe Boy applies BSE two-component epoxy via brush coating or spray lining. The dual-colour BSE material shows coverage in real time.
04
Cure & Return to Service
Epoxy cures at ambient temperature. After curing, the pipe is inspected and returned to service with a new structural inner lining.

Why Dual-Colour Epoxy Matters

The NoDig BSE system is not just a coating — it's a quality control tool built into the material itself. No guesswork about coverage. No missed spots.

👁️
Visual Layer Verification
Each coat is a different colour. The operator can see exactly where the second layer has been applied and verify full coverage in real time.
🔗
2K Chemistry — Structural Performance
Two-component epoxy achieves superior adhesion, chemical resistance and mechanical strength compared to single-component coatings.
💧
Potable Water Compliant
BSE meets European standards for use in potable water supply pipes, as well as sewer and drainage applications.
📦
Ready-to-Use Cartridge
Pre-portioned cartridges ensure correct mix ratio every time, eliminate waste and simplify field logistics.
BSE Coating System
Two-Component Dual-Colour Epoxy
Layer 1 — Base Coat
First component in contrasting colour. Provides primary adhesion layer on prepared pipe surface.
Layer 2 — Topcoat
Second component in different colour. Colour contrast confirms 100% coverage at a glance.
Cured Lining
Fully cured 2K epoxy. Smooth internal surface, corrosion-resistant. Service life 50+ years.
FAQ

Technical Questions

Common questions about epoxy pipe rehabilitation, ProLight and BSE coating material.

What is epoxy pipe rehabilitation?+

A trenchless method of restoring damaged or corroded pipes from the inside — without excavation. A two-component epoxy coating is applied to the inner wall using a brush or spray applicator. The cured epoxy forms a new structural inner lining that seals the pipe, stops corrosion and extends service life.

Brush coating or spray lining — what's the difference?+

Brush coating uses a rotating brush head to physically spread epoxy across the pipe wall. Spray lining uses a pneumatic nozzle to atomise and spray epoxy. Brush coating delivers a thicker, more controlled film; spray lining is faster. NoDig's ProLight handles both methods depending on the head configuration.

Does epoxy rehabilitation require excavation?+

No. NoDig's systems are fully trenchless. The ProLight machine is inserted through an existing access point, epoxy is applied from inside, and the pipe returns to service after curing. No road breaking, no excavation required.

What is the NoDig BSE dual-colour epoxy?+

NoDig BSE is a 2K epoxy in cartridge format. The dual-colour formulation means the base and topcoat are different colours — giving the operator real-time visual confirmation of complete coverage. A critical quality control advantage over single-colour systems.

How long does an epoxy lining last?+

A properly applied two-component epoxy lining has an expected service life of 50+ years under normal operating conditions. Longevity depends on correct surface preparation, accurate mixing ratios and the pipe's structural condition prior to lining.

What surface preparation is needed before epoxy application?+

The pipe must be fully cleaned using NoDig's mechanical cleaning machines (V8, V1 or Mini6), then dried completely. Correct surface preparation is the single most critical factor for coating adhesion and long-term performance.

What is The Pipe Boy and when should I use it instead of ProLight?+

The Pipe Boy is NoDig's industrial high-flow epoxy coating machine for larger-scale projects. Key differences vs ProLight: 370 g/min flow rate, pipe range up to DN300, water-heated hoses with automatic temperature control for consistent epoxy viscosity in all weather, remote control, and a 50m HP hose on a reel for long runs without stopping. Choose ProLight or ProLight2 for compact residential and commercial work up to DN150. Choose The Pipe Boy for municipal infrastructure, industrial pipelines and projects requiring larger diameters or high throughput.

What are NoDig's working hours?+

Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 CET. Contact [email protected] or +385 91 882 9860.

Where can I buy ProLight or BSE epoxy in Europe?+

Via nodig.hr (Croatia), nodig-shop.de (Germany/DACH), nodig.si (Slovenia/Austria),nodig.rs (Serbia), nodig.es (Spain/Italy), nodig.fr (France), info@nodig.hr for other regions.
